Conflict-affected countries, such as Yemen, face numerous challenges that limit their ability to thrive technologically. Scarce resources are diverted away from research and development initiatives that are critical to technological progress.

The concentration of national resources and attention on military endeavors shifted the emphasis away from nurturing the creative environment required for scientific accomplishments. Furthermore, conflicts disrupt societal structures and erode the basic infrastructure required for knowledge exchange and community cooperation.

Furthermore, due to strained diplomatic relations and increased protectionist measures aimed at protecting national interests rather than promoting global cooperation in technology-driven areas, cooperation between conflict-affected countries is limited. As a result, the negative effects of conflicts undoubtedly limit countries' technological growth potential in a variety of ways; however, despite these obstacles, some countries have demonstrated remarkable resilience to overcome adversity through exceptional resourcefulness, leveraging local innovation efforts amidst turmoil, or exploiting available technology to their advantage. From this perspective, even in times of crisis, the role of technology in achieving sustainable development must be emphasized.

Technology can be used as a powerful tool to help Yemen achieve sustainable development, spur positive change, and contribute to addressing pressing social, economic, and environmental issues. Advanced technologies can help eradicate poverty, improve healthcare systems, and expand educational opportunities, as well as provide access to sustainable energy and sound resource management practices.

Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, for example, can assist Yemen in streamlining administrative processes while improving efficiency and reducing corruption. Furthermore, AI-powered algorithms can analyze massive amounts of data to uncover patterns that can assist policymakers in making informed decisions about economic growth strategies or disaster response plans.

Renewable energy solutions, by diversifying energy sources and increasing access to electricity among underserved populations, provide another way to use technology to achieve sustainable development goals. Furthermore, mobile connectivity facilitates financial inclusion through electronic banking, allowing marginalized communities in Yemen to access previously unavailable financial and credit facilities and services, thereby increasing entrepreneurship potential in these areas.

Even in remote areas with limited access to traditional infrastructure, digital platforms can effectively disseminate knowledge and educational resources. Technology opens up new educational possibilities by bridging the digital divide through low-cost internet connectivity solutions combined with personalized educational content accessible via laptops or smartphones.
