HUMAN ACCESS organized several activities in Marib Governorate as part of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)-funded project "Safe Space for Women and Girls" to raise community awareness about women's rights while also promoting protection and livelihood in the face of numerous crises and challenges exacerbated by the Yemeni conflict.
In the Al-Matar neighborhood, the safe space held a group psychological support session on stress and life pressures.
Furthermore, the space raised community awareness about discrimination and the rights of women and girls, as well as the importance of taking all necessary precautions to ensure their protection and effective participation in inclusive development.
The Al-Jufaina community held a group psychological support session to discuss mental health components and how to maintain them.
Furthermore, the safe space organized three community awareness sessions, the first on the importance of education for women, the second on vocational guidance and its impact on women's and girls' success in life, and the third on the role of the space's services in addressing gender-based violence issues.
Safe spaces for women and girls in conflict zones are essential for their protection from gender-based violence, provision of psychosocial support, access to information and resources, community building, education, empowerment, and health services. These spaces play a crucial role in preventing exploitation, promoting resilience, and advocating for the rights of women and girls in the challenging context of conflict.
